ACHIEVEMENTS OF IGNOU REGIONAL CENTRE LUCKNOW
· Regional Centre Lucknow office has been shifted to its new premises. Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Ram Naik has inaugurated the new building of IGNOU Regional Centre Lucknow on 04th November 2015. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushma Yadav, Director RSD Dr. V.V. Reddy were present on this occasion.
· Four Days Mega Rozgar Mela has been organized at Regional Centre Lucknow from 16th May 2016 to 19th May 2016 in collaboration with Government of Uttar Pradesh. Appointment letters has been given by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to the selected candidates of Regional Centre Lucknow.
· Regional Centre has organized 02 days North Zone Regional Directors’ Meet from 02nd – 03rd September 2016.Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Ravindra Kumar, Director RSD Dr. V.V. Reddy and other officials of IGNOU Head Quarter New Delhi along with Regional Director and Deputy Directors of 11 Regional Centre of North India have participated in this meet.
· Regional Centre have adopted 02 villages Bindowa and Atrauli at Mohanlalganj, Lucknow and a village Mahona at Bakshi ka Talab under “ Unnat Bharat Abhiyan” of Govt. of India. Many activities i.e. promotion of literacy, Health and Hygiene and other awareness programmes have been organized by the Regional Centre.
· Hon’ble Minister of Textile Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani has inaugurated the new Study Centre-27227 ( Smt. Shiv Dulari Singh PG College, Amethi) on 8th April 2017. Study Centre-27227 is one of Rural Study Centre of Regional Centre Lucknow.
· Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh has given 01 Unit of National Service Scheme (NSS) to Regional Centre, Lucknow in 2017 and 02nd Unit in 2018. With this IGNOU has become the first University in Distance Education to receive the Unit of NSS.
· Regional Centre have Organized 02 Special NSS Camps for its Volunteers of 07 days duration. During these Camps Self Defence training has been given to NSS Volunteers and other learners of Regional Centre, Lucknow.
· IGNOU, Regional Centre has given free admission to the Transgender’s Community in BPP Programme of IGNOU.
